The 2007 CN Canadian Women's Open, Canada's only LPGA event will be held at the Royal Mayfair Golf & Country Club in Edmonton, Alberta . This full week of world-class championship golf includes activities for the whole family designed to broaden interest, support and participation in women's golf. The event will run from August 24-26, 2007 and enters its 33nd season as Canada 's national women's open championship. Defending champion Christie Kerr ( A long time student of Jim Mclean) will look to repeat while she leads a list of talented LPGA players competing for the 1.7 million (US) purse. From Canadian Golf Hall of Famer Jocelyne Bourassa's historic win in 1973 to Tour rookie Meena Lee's come-from-behind victory in 2005, Canada 's only LPGA event has provided more than three decades of thrills and entertainment to Canadian golf fans.
