    The 2007 CN Canadian Women's Open, Canada's only LPGA event will be held at the Royal Mayfair Golf & Country Club in Edmonton, Alberta . This full week of world-class championship golf includes activities for the whole family designed to broaden interest, support and participation in women's golf.

    The event will run from August 24-26, 2007 and enters its 33nd season as Canada 's national women's open championship.

    Defending champion Christie Kerr ( A long time student of Jim Mclean) will look to repeat while she leads a list of talented LPGA players competing for the 1.7 million (US) purse.

    From Canadian Golf Hall of Famer Jocelyne Bourassa's historic win in 1973 to Tour rookie Meena Lee's come-from-behind victory in 2005, Canada 's only LPGA event has provided more than three decades of thrills and entertainment to Canadian golf fans.

    Many of the greatest names in women's golf grace the list of Canadian Women's Open champions, including Jocelyne Bourassa, JoAnne Carner, Donna Caponi, Judy Rankin, Amy Alcott, Juli Inkster, Laura Davies, Karrie Webb, Beth Daniel, Meg Mallon and Annika Sorenstam.
